Industrial Welding Facility HVAC Retrofit – 95,000 Square Foot Manufacturing Facility
Project Overview
Airsimplicity was approached by a manufacturing client operating a 95,000-square-foot welding facility in the Houston area. The building had never been air conditioned and relied solely on High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fans and large overhead doors for ventilation and temperature relief.
While this approach provided some air movement, it did little to combat the extreme Texas heat. During the summer months, indoor temperatures regularly climbed to uncomfortable levels, creating challenging working conditions for welders, fabricators, and production staff.
The Challenge
Conditioning a 95,000-square-foot industrial welding facility presented several unique challenges.
The building's size, heat load generated by welding operations, large open work areas, and constant movement of personnel and equipment required a carefully engineered solution. Traditional approaches would have been costly to operate and difficult to implement effectively.
The client needed a system that would:
- Improve employee comfort and morale
- Maintain productivity during extreme summer temperatures
- Provide reliable operation in an industrial environment
- Deliver long-term value and energy efficiency
The Solution
After a detailed evaluation of the facility and its operational requirements, Airsimplicity designed a customized HVAC solution utilizing thirty packaged rooftop units strategically positioned throughout the building.
Our team managed the project from design through installation, coordinating equipment placement, duct distribution, controls, electrical requirements, and startup to ensure the system would perform as intended.
Results
The transformation was immediate.
By introducing conditioned air throughout the facility, employees were able to work in a significantly more comfortable environment year-round. Improved indoor conditions helped boost morale among welders, fabricators, and support personnel while reducing the impact of Houston's extreme summer heat on daily operations.
Management reported noticeable improvements in employee satisfaction and productivity following completion of the project.
Most importantly, the customer was extremely pleased with the final result. The relationship continues today, with Airsimplicity providing ongoing maintenance and service support for the facility's HVAC systems.
Why It Matters
Large industrial facilities present challenges that go far beyond simply installing equipment. Success requires proper load calculations, system design, equipment selection, and long-term service support.
This project demonstrates Airsimplicity's ability to design and execute large-scale commercial HVAC solutions that improve working conditions, support business operations, and deliver lasting value for our clients.

Dental Office HVAC Installation in Houston, Texas
The Project
18 Ceiling Cassette Units, 4 Outdoor Condensers, and 7 Branch Boxes Installed for a Modern Dental Facility
The Story
The owner needed a comfortable, energy-efficient HVAC system capable of serving multiple treatment rooms, offices, and common areas while maintaining individual temperature control.
The Solution
Airsimplicity designed and installed:
- 4 LG mini-split condensers
- 18 ceiling cassette air handlers
- 7 branch boxes
- Complete refrigerant piping and controls
Why This Project Was Unique
At the time of installation, this was believed to be the largest LG mini-split installation completed in a single building in the Houston area.
Representatives from LG visited the project site to observe the installation due to the scale and complexity of the system.
Challenges
- Coordinating refrigerant piping for 18 indoor units
- Proper branch box placement
- Condensate management
- Maintaining installation schedules alongside other trades
Results
- Individual room temperature control
- Improved comfort for patients and staff

Warehouse HVAC Installation Featuring Fabric Ductwork
15,000 Square Foot Warehouse Climate Control Project
A Houston-area client approached Airsimplicity looking for a way to condition their 15,000-square-foot warehouse. The facility relied heavily on pallet racking systems and daily forklift traffic for loading, unloading, and inventory management.
Traditional metal ductwork presented a concern for the customer. With forklifts operating throughout the warehouse, accidental impacts could damage rigid duct systems, resulting in costly repairs and operational disruptions.
After evaluating the facility's layout and daily operations, Airsimplicity designed a climate control system utilizing fabric ductwork, commonly known as DuctSox®. This solution allowed conditioned air to be distributed evenly throughout the warehouse while providing a more forgiving alternative to traditional sheet metal duct systems.
The fabric duct system offered several advantages:
- Even air distribution throughout the warehouse
- Improved employee comfort
- Reduced hot and cold spots
- Lightweight construction
- Simplified maintenance
- Less risk of damage from incidental forklift contact
The completed installation provided the customer with a comfortable, conditioned workspace while accommodating the unique demands of a busy warehouse environment.
By taking the customer's operations into account during the design process, Airsimplicity delivered a practical HVAC solution that improved comfort, protected the investment, and supported day-to-day productivity.
